To many brands Facebook might have surpassed their branded websites in terms of online presence due to the fast increased popularity in the social media platform. Coca-cola for example has hit 10.7 million Facebook fans while the traffic of their brand website on the other hand fell by more than 40% in July compared to a year ago.
Kraft Food also has gathered a fan base as big as 8.7 million but its US traffic for its multi-brand site drops 73% in one year.
According to a recent Yahoo survey on the hottest keywords for the first six months of 2010, the fastest growing businesses in search marketing for Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, India and Taiwan are travel, education and medical cosmetology.
In Hong Kong, ‘travel’ tops the list while ‘interior design’, ‘renovation’, ‘bank’ and ’software’ also claims a position in top ten. In Singapore, people seem to be more interested in art and entertainment related keywords such as ‘Universal Studio”, “M1”and “it show 2010” etc. For South Korea on the other hand, the main list consists of different consumer products such as ‘New Balance’ and ‘Nike’.
After learning the fact that a movie called ‘The Social Network’ featuring Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be released soon, some creative guys out there have thought about making a movie for Twitter as well.
